Unhealthy salad? Really?

Keeping healthy while you’re out and about is simple: order salad for lunch and you’re good to go– right? Wrong! I just read an article about how salads and other so-called healthy foods can sometimes be unhealthy, especially if you’re watching your calories and fat intake:

“These days, restaurant salads can include ingredients that dieters would be likely to avoid (meats, cheeses, breads, and pasta). Potato chips are labeled ‘veggie chips,’ milkshakes are called ‘smoothies,’ and sugary drinks are named ‘flavored water.’”

The article discusses a study showing how “healthy” foods aren’t – if you read their ingredients label. Stay on the safe side and investigate ingredients food you order when you’re on the go. Sometimes a salad is not a salad!
